How Can the Death Knight Tank if They can’t use shields?
I can’t wait for the WOTLK to come out for World of warcraft. Once I get it I am creating a death knight! but i want tank since death knights can tank, but on the world of warcraft website it says death knights can use shields! How can a death knight tank without a shield!
Possibly the same way a druid can tank without a shield. Also my 70 rogue has been known to off tank a few things without a shield. All things are possible depending on circumstances. Tanking isn’t always about certain equipment, it is about the abilities a class can use. Plus nothing is ever set in stone as far as Wow goes. Things might change between now and the release, and with the many patches that will be released after the expansion, things may be completely different then all of the info on the site.

A Brief Guide to Death Knight Tanking (emphasis on frost spec)
The Addon Junkie (http://www.theaddonjunkie.com) does occasionally take a break from addons to actually play the game, and this video is intended to address an issue that is all too common, especially with the addition of the LFG tool: bad Death Knight tanking.
Let me make a special note here, DKs are not alone in the bad tanking spectrum. I’ve had more than my share of poorly geared, inexperienced, and sometimes incorrectly specced tanks of all classes (ret pally with 2H mace and leather armor FTL). That said, DKs are the new kid on the block and have a bad reputation. Having tanked with a DK myself, I know that they have great potential and want to see more players live up to that potential. So I created this video giving a brief overview of some of the things that DK tanks should be aware of – specifically those who, like myself, are deeply specced into the Frost tree.
Oh and one more thing that I forgot to say in the video… Tanks, that blue bar underneath the green bar that priest/pally/shammy/druid is sporting is called “mana” and it represents how prepared they are to keep you alive. Also, they cannot heal you from 100 yards away while eating/drinking/answering the phone – even magic has its limits. The relationship between you and the healer is one of the most important relationships in your group, even if it IS just a PUG: try hard to foster it.

How do i make a death knight?
okay, i have recently bought "Wrath of the Lich King," and i have 2 level 55’s, and when i attempt to make a death knight, the option is not functional. Am i missing something? I have installed the game, and all the patches for it…but the death knights aren’t available to me. What am i not doing?
Could it be because you haven’t been to the WoW website and upgraded your account? Other than that you have to have a lvl 55 character on the world you are creating the Death Knight on.
