death knight dual wield demonstration [4k+ dps]
after my first video when dual wield went live, i got some questions on how much dps frost can do single target (without boss buffs or adds or raid buffs). this is a sample video hitting 4000+ dps. Also note that the dummy target had only 1HP so abilities like Necrosis were doing only 1dmg lowering the true DPS value. with better gear and weapons from ToC10/25 you should be able to hit 5kdps selfbuffed.

yea I hate how this spec does on training dummys because it’s no where near accurate I do about the same on a dummy and then I do about 5k in raids so dont base all your DPS on just the dummy

Dark moon card greatness does give the 90 constant strength and the 300 strength proc. The 300 strength proc has a 100% proc chance, and a 15 second up time with a 45 second internal cooldown. Meaning it has a 33% uptime. As such in a duration fight you can say the the strength you get overall from the proc is 100. added with the 90 constant strength the trinket gives you get ~190 strength.

Glyph of Disease is actually only viable for DW frost if you’re not using Icy Talons and Imp Icy Talons. This is because the diseases refresh on Glyph of Disease doesn’t refresh the icy talons buff. As such if you’re using icy talons you’ll have to cast Icy touch regardless in order to keep your icy talons up. Meaning after casting icy talons you’ll have to either use pestilence to refresh blood plague or just use plague strike. Either way it’s 2 runes to refresh
