S6 Eps 15: Commentary (vs. Shaman/Death Knight)

As promised, here’s the commentary bit on episode 14, vs. Shaman/Death Knight. I forgot to give credit to fistrogue, who also contributed the same fan tip (don’t attack a shaman who’s out of mana) at the end of the video. Credit goes to you both!

tip numero dos – shaman has earth shield, without it, due to lack of survivability talents it is almost screwed. If you switch a lot, they you are forcing the shaman to keep switching earth shield, ie, a mana intensive spell
its good for when they oom, and you nuking them, suddenly cyclone shaman, switch to dk, then after cyclone train, shaamn will shield dk, switch back to shaman /wave dead
tip- life bloom …
tip- life bloom full then put rej or regrow, therefore if purge is used, it is likey to dispell life blooms aswell as other hots = win

I dropped Resto/Lock and went back to a diff DK/Resto. One of the real problems I can’t figure out how to deal with is any team involving a Destro lock–they hit like TRUCKS, and can cc you, as well as their partner’s CC, it just seems like it’s too much to deal with. Could you give a video about a destro team?

my counter strat would have been go for dk, druid controls shaman and does not let him drink, occasional cyclone swaps for additional pressure, and when the shammy gets to 30 percent mana switch to him..
Killing ghouls …
Killing ghouls makes such a small difference – some ghoul summons can be on a soft half minute cooldown, making it almost impossible to kill repeatedly. I can’t speak for locks since I have little knowledge of them, but if you see the pet getting focused the lock should already have started summoning a second one – which will buy you time. A lot of your games will depend on how clever your lock is at staying alive via escapes WHILE rotating his fears… good luck!

Also, how do you handle the Ghoul dying? I know that a lock pet is far and away different from a DK one, but do you let it die? does it depend on the situation? always try to save it as long as it doesn’t destroy your DK’s heals?

I just switched from DK/Resto to Resto/Lock and am having a tough time with it. It seems like every single time the fel hunter is summoned, it gets instagibbed from 13k health down to dead before I can even rejuv/swiftmend, despite me knowing full well that the pet is coming, it doesn’t seem to matter. Any feedback?

atm im running dk/lock and were doing pretty good only problem is a bunch of the matches we lose are very narrow for example we CC’ed the heals and the dps had 800 or so health and just barely they live because our CC’s dont last long enough and the heals start coming again. timing our CC’s is one of our main problems atm

Keep commentating man. Your videos without what you’re doing just don’t stack up. I love the way you arena and the ideas you have. But, more so when you talk about it you’re very clear and what you say makes a lot of sense

You said in a text box that its not a bad thing to talk with your partner afterwards when you lose against teams. (I have just started arenas last week -War / prot pala) And we faced RM and got facerolled twice. Then we changed our tacs to heavily defensive and we win 3/4 RM’s now. Although we are in 1500 rating still
