Should I begin to play World of Warcraft (Wow)?

I currently play RuneScape. I am a high level (114). The game is starting to get boring and I need something new to do.

I heard World of Warcraft is fun, but it is expensive and it sucks away your life.
What should i do?

I started playing WoW a few months after it came out and it hooked me more than my first MMORPG did. It’s a very fun game and is definitely addicting. However, they have made improvements in the amount of time you have to invest to get epic gear. This has made casual players very happy and hardcore players angry, but who cares about the people who have nothing better to do than play a video game 24/7?

In any case, I say try it out. My first MMO was Ashen Empires (I’m level 105) and WoW blew the pants off it. I’ll always cherish my memories on AE, though.

Well, it’s definitely not expensive unless you consider $15 a month expensive.. (3 times what Runescape membership costs).

Free games are where it’s at.

If you like PVP, go to Shaiya.

    Just google search Shaiya.

It’s fun if you have friends to play with.. not so much if you don’t.
It’s definitely a time sink though. I have 7 level 80 characters and god only knows how may hours put into it.. but I quit because all my friends stopped playing for various reasons. If you play.. roll on a PVE server. Otherwise, a lot of WoW is about ganking/camping, so if you don’t have anybody to come help you..it can get frustrating.

When the Star Wars MMO comes out, my friends are all planning on playing that.. so I’ll probably get that and play it with them. It actually looks a lot like WoW, but hopefully without all the drama some of the WoW servers have.

That’s just my opinion though.. I think MMOs are all about who you’re playing with, so they’re most fun with friends.

World of Warcraft is a fun game to play. I wouldnt say its that expensive. $15 is not much at all for a month.

WoW is a huge game that can demand a lot of your time, but you just have to tighten the reigns. There is a parental option in the game that allows you to govern your gaming time.

As for WoW sucking your life away, which game doesnt? If you have an active social life and just play games in your spare time, then you will have nothing to worry about will you!

I quit after playing for a month and getting my character to level 60. It didn’t seem worth it to buy the expansions and invest another 45 dollars into the game so I could keep going up. The game is pretty dead under level 60.
