World of Warcraft! Mage, rogue or warlock?
Howdy!
After a year-long break I've decided to take up WoW once more!
But now i have a dilemma… what class should I play?
Last time I had an active subsciprtion I got my 'lock up to 54 and absolutely loved it! Twas' great fun! But now ive decided to start again and can't decided which class to choose…
I'm wasn't a huge PvPer last time i played, but I'm going to get more PvP serious this time round. However, I will still spend the majority of my time instancing. I tend not to do much PvE solo quests… solo levelling takes too long AND I find it tedious.
I'm looking for POWER, VERSATILITY, VARIATION and FUN with relatively speedy levelling!
ATM: Id choose rogue for the 'sneakability' factor, but I'm not a huge melee fan..
Id choose mage for damage and 'groupability', but i dont believe the mage has much spell variation…
id choose lock 'cos i like their spells, but i dont like em in pvp and ive had 1 b4…
Rogue, mage or another 'lock? Reasons please!
Ok, so I've decided on lock. Now what race? Blood elf or human? horde or alliance? Is it true that Blood elves get a heap of crap from other players for some reason?
Rogues use 'cheap' tactics to overcome there opponents, such as stuns and poisons, this si a good class to play if you like stealthing and dropping clothies in seconds >=P
Mages are good in instances and make 'fairly' good dpsers, however i "personally" do not like mages. They are way to easy to kill and arent nearly as fun as a rogue or warlock "in MY opinion"
Warlocks you probably already know alot about, if you like your warlock before theres no problem with making another one, but this one is more based on your decision
Overall of the 3 choices, i would pick a rogue.

Rogues are *always* killing me in PVP. They appear out of nowhere and my health is more than half gone before I have a chance to do anything.

lock is best in pvp

Rogue if you want to pvp. The mage is great for grouping, like you said, and if specced right they can nuke like crazy in pvp. My arena team (you'll see when you start playing again) has a mage that can kill anyone in seconds. BUT, a good stunlock rogue will pwn any caster. Warlocks are great at soloing, but IMO get killed pretty quickly in pvp if they are targeted.

I have a 70 rogue and a 70 lock and a 40 ish mage
personally i dont like mages they dont have that great of a variety of spell and also the whole squishy thing is annoying its all fun blink being a vending machine its really group friendly but pvp wise never got into it, the rogue was my first toon it was fun up til 60 anything after that melee is not fun for pvp imo its so blunt theres no variey in pvp as long as you have good weapons as a rogue your fine, rogues are annoying but they also can get messed up really fast and really easy, out of all the classes ive played i have to say my lock is my favorite toon, i rolled destruction which is basically fighting like a mage, you dont rely on your Dots which is amazing at 70 and affliction i can kill 10 mobs my level or higher at the same time as affliction, its really not great but destruction adds a whole new game play its a combination of a mage and lock you use shadow spells to dish out massive crits and with the curses benefiting you i.e curse of shadow and elements you can double up on your crits with certain spells if your shadow or fire of course and later on if you roll tailoring you can pick up shadoweave for shadow spells or spell cloth tailoring and go with whatever you want to be a fire or shadow spell warlock its really fun thats just my lengthy opinion though

I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE SAYING IN YOUR ADDITIONAL COMMENTS ABOUT THE BLOOD ELVES. THEY LOOK LIKE THEY PLAY FOR THE SAME TEAM IF YOU KNOW WHAT I'M SAYING. I GUESS THAT'S WHAT YOU MEAN, SO YES TO ANSWER THAT. BLOOD ELVES GET SOME REALLY GREAT BUFFS SO YOU SHOULDN'T REALLY WORRY ABOUT WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE OR HOW THEY ACT.

These are the races that can be warlocks.(forgive me if i missed one) You can choose what one you think is best for a warlock, but my personal preference is blood elf warlock because of arcane torrent, it doesn't help much but its good in the beggining. my second choice would be undead warlock. (because undead just plain own)
