Well, try it in-game. Blizzard has already lifted the restriction. As long as you have at least one 55+ character you can make a Death Knight on any server, but still only 1 per server.

lol the deathknight looks awesome and is strong but right now i think mage is most overpowered at lvl 80 cause you can summon 5 copys of yourself (i think) but awesome vids machinima!!!!

one per server, as long as the server you make it on has another lvl 55+ character. Blizzard is planning on taking up that restriction soon though, so that you could make a DK on any realm as long as you have at least 1 lvl 55+ character somewhere.
