What is the pet preference in World of Warcraft for hunters? And why?

Why do some people prefer bears over cats, and wolves over spiders? I myself have a snake,and a cat.

It depends on what you want to do with your pet. Its a strategic choice.

   well its their own choice isnt it. But the best pet to get are these turtles gecause they have amazing defence

   i love snakes too. they are tiny, enemy wont see them, their dps is freaking high cuz of their fangs and theres DOT cuz of the venom. uh….

   cats, wolves=high dps, good for grinding, pvp
   bear, gorilla=high hp, good for OT in instances
   turtle,scopiods=high amr, good for questing, OT in instances
   boar, bird=jack of all trades
   every pet has diff skill…juz depend on wat u like.
