From a pure soloing standpoint, I always preferred affliction. I usually used a build of 43/0/18, with points in soul siphon and fel concentration. By using this build, you can apply Damage over Time spells to multiple targets, and simultaneously cast Drain Life on one of them in order to restore your health. This allows you to kill multiple enemy creatures at once, with very little downtime in between.

You’ll find this spec is also suitable for entry level 70 raids such as Karazhan, Gruul’s Lair, and Magtheridon’s Lair.

Well, demonlogy is useless til lvl 50, so the best idea is to take Affliction till lvl 50. And then respec to Demonology. When you hit lvl 60, and go to Outland, you will probally over-aggro your pet easy, even your Felgaurd. So at 60, Respec to Destruction and an Imp. Just make sure you have tons of mana potions GL

Demonology is by far the easiest for leveling and soloing/questing at lvl 70.

As soon as you hit 50 and get your felguard, everything becomes a cakewalk. The demonology tree improves your spell damage, plus you have a hell of a tough demon by your side, in the felguard.

Once you hit 70 and get decently geared, going affliction can be just as easy. The dot ticks will down pretty much any non-elite you’re fighting, and making it possible to “drain tank” the mobs.

But, by far, I found it the easiest to level using demonology on all 3 of my 70 locks (PVE server, PVP specced, PVP server PVP specced, and PVP server PVE specced)

Found it easier to have 3 copies than to constantly pay the 50 gold to respec =)
