Are you sure your playing World of Warcraft? You cannot loot other players items when you kill them. Killing other players does not grant experiance, only honor points. You can use honor points to buy gear with. Recently, PvP battlegrounds have started giving experience points when you complete battleground objectives. If you kill a player in battlegrounds, you can “loot their insignia” which will force them to resurrect at the graveyard.
