Using Recipes for More World of Warcraft Gold

Recipes are a great way to go from no gold at all to a substantial amount in a short period of time. It doesn’t matter if you’re working on Cooking, Enchanting, Tailoring, Engineering, Fishing, Jewelcrafting, First Aid, Alchemy, or even Blacksmithing, because it just depends on what professions your character is using. Even though most of the recipes you will learn from each trainer, there are several vendors out there who sell specialized recipes that many gamers don’t realize are out there. Plus, when you reach higher character levels, you will be able to find a few drops here and there with recipes as well.

However, we all have to start at the beginning, which in this case is level 1. In order to learn the various recipes out there, you have to be able to build your profession. Each progression usually hits around 75, 150, 225, 300, 375, and 450. You can make weapons, armor, food, potions, glyphs, mechanicals, enchantments, and a plethora of other fantastic things. The only problem is, you will level fast in the beginning, but as you make your way to higher numbers, it will cost more for the mats. Then again, the more it costs the more you’ll be able to charge in the Auction House (hopefully). However, if you want to skip all the purchase of “mats” or farming for them, just sell the recipes themselves.

Yes, it’s very possible to make a mint in the AH just by selling the actual recipes. Before we get to that though, you have to understand the lingo that revolves around recipes in the World of Warcraft game. If you go to the AH, on the left hand side you will see “Recipes.” Just click on it and notice all the different options that are out there (Cooking, First Aid, Fishing, Blacksmithing, Tailoring, Jewelcrafting, Book, Alchemy, Leatherworking, etc.). Each one has a different name for their mats (materials). For instance if you’re a Jewelcrafter, then your patterns will be called “Designs.” If you’re an Engineer, it’s called “Schematics.” We could go over them all, but you get the idea.

Okay, so let’s start teaching you how to make more gold using these recipes. In order to do this you’re going to have to figure out which ones are more popular, higher-quality, and can make a profit based on the mats (materials) you’ll have to purchase. The easiest way to do this is by checking out the color of the recipe. They all come in gray, white, green, blue, or purple. These are listed from worst to best, and if you can find the best, and get the patterns for the least amount of money, then you’ll have yourself a magnificent profit. Keep in mind you will have to keep track of your skill level and how far in the game you get. The important part is to understand you may need things that require you to be in places like the Outlands, which of course means you need to be around level 58 to do any damage out there.

Remember, this quality of recipe is likely to be purchased by low-level characters that are not too advanced when it comes to their gold accumulation. Selling for under a gold is more likely to bring in much more gold than selling for a gold or more. An example of a recipe that classifies under “Common” in WoW is the Cooking recipe called “Brilliant Smallfish”. Naturally, there are low-level recipes that fall into this category for each and every profession. It is important to acquire as many as possible in order to increase the amount of gold that you are able to personally accumulate.

Once you reach a certain skill level, you’ll be able to hit the Green Recipes. These are considered to be “Uncommon” and will normally cost more than everything except for the blue and purple recipes. One thing to understand is that you can purchase some of these from vendors scattered across the land for small amounts, then turn around and sell them in the AH for more. See, it’s all about supply and demand, so if people don’t know where to access them throughout World of Warcraft, then chances are they’ll purchase it in the AH if they need it. Just remember you shouldn’t buy a bunch of them, then place them all in the AH at the same time. Doing so will only give someone else the opportunity to come in and undercut you.

Once you reach the higher skill levels, it will be time to sell or make “Rare” or “Epic” recipes. For instance if you’re Tailoring, once you reach the higher 50s and low 60s of your character you’ll be able to make “Robe of the Void” and “Truefaith Vestments” patterns. However, it can cost more for the materials to make them then it could be sold for, so keep track of it. You don’t want to lose money off something. Instead, analyze the recipes and what they’re selling for, and also look at the price of what you could actually make. You might just make more money selling the recipe rather than the actual item. Just remember, no matter what you do there is always someone who wants to buy something in World of Warcraft.

In the end you don’t have to spend hours questing to make gold, or hitting the Instances hoping for a great drop. The only thing you have to do is put aside a little time to look of the Auction House. There is so much gold to be made there you really don’t have to go anywhere else. Well, except to train your professions, but then head back to the AH and start selling the items you can make. Then again, you could just find a vendor and purchase a couple recipes to sell. Whatever the case may be we know you’ll enjoy these WoW gold making secrets we’ve shared today. You may even want to pass these tips on to your “Guildies” and help them out as well. Good Luck!
