World of Warcraft – Talents And Gear For Leveling Your Druid

Druids are the coolest class in WoW because of all the different niches you can fulfill. Druids can tank, heal, or do melee or spell damage. As a druid you can literally fill any class role you want. Even though that is true, when leveling, it is important to pick one path and stick to it if you want to gain experience quickly. Here are some basic pointers.

Talents

Since Druids have so many options for talents and roles, figuring out your leveling spec can be a tough choice. Since you will mostly be doing solo quests to level, you will want to choose a build that focuses on damage, so that narrows it down to Feral or Balance. Feral and Balance both have great DPS, but I would recommend Feral just because it does not depend on mana. Feral builds also allow you to pick up another gear set and tank instances as a bear. If you’re more of the grouping type, Balance is a good option, since mana issues don’t crop up nearly as often in groups and you can also heal well with a Balance build.

Feral Gear

Feral druids will want to carry around 2 fairly different sets of gear, one for soloing in cat form and the other for tanking in groups with bear form. Cat form gear will focus more on agility, strength, attack power and critical strike rating, in that order. Agility, strength and attack power affect the amount of damage you do with each attack, and agility and critical strike rating increase your chance of getting a critical strike.

As a bear, you’ll want tank gear to best perform your role in groups. Your first choice should be stamina, but also try to pick up a decent amount of armor, defense, agility, and dodge rating to boost your absorption and avoidance and take less damage. If your gear has good armor, some stamina, and one or two of the other stats listed, you should be in good shape as a tank.

Balance Gear

Playing a Balance spec, you will be looking for the same kind of gear that mages look for. You will need stats like spell power, crit rating, intelligence, and a smattering of mana regeneration. The most important stat for you is spell power, and shortly after that, crit rating. Pick up enough intelligence to boost up your mana pool to a good level so you don’t run dry early on in boss fights. If you can get it, mana regeneration will help, but don’t fret if you don’t have any on your gear.

With the info in this article, you’re now fully equipped to level your druid to 80. If you really want to fly through the levels, I would highly recommend checking out an in-game leveling guide by clicking through the link at the end of this article. I’ve done a review of what I consider to be the best druid leveling guide available, so if you’re interested in getting to level 80 faster and having more fun on the way, check it out.
