Soon, Deathwing the Destroyer will return to Azeroth, and his eruption from Deepholm will sunder the world, leaving a festering wound across the continents. Oh, I’d certainly agree that plenty of new MMO’s are trying to be more approachable and are trying to appeal to a wider audience, but I don’t see that as copying WoW as much as games in general becoming more mainstream. Especially with Nintendo Wii, it’s starting to be a more normal and widely accepted hobby and gaming companies are trying to hook some of these so-called “casual gamers” right now.

Haha, on most realms, Horde outnumber Alliance 100:1 especially on Coilfang, we NEVER own Wintergrasp because of it. In a sense, some MMO’s feel as if they are copying wow’s formula to a tee. The biggest part of WoW’s popularity is how easy and approachable it is. Every feature has been streamlined and fashioned in a way that it is easy to pick up and learn, even for people who have never played an mmo. There might be a lot of companies who try this, but fail to meet the same level of quality as Blizzard.

To clear things up, everything in this expansion has been in WoW lore at one point or another. Deathwing himself made his debut in Warcraft 2, in fact (Making him the perfect successor to Arthas.) The Worgen have only had a small part in lore up until this point, and Gilnaes has barely been touched, so it’s a good time to touch up on that. The only real lore breaker in this is that worgen and goblins can be DK’s.

It’s true that the lore doesn’t really matter in the long run. Example; Legend of Zelda; they’re GREAT games, and yet they have the shittiest chronological ordering I’ve ever seen XD Imo, I find it fun to try to figure out the chronological order, which can at least make sense, lol. The fans are kind of whining about that detail, but they don’t really mind, so it’s no biggie
