Erm..excuse me, I never said the changes were “going to be terrible.” I simply said the awesome lore which they had worked so many years to make and which brought in many old Warcraft fans seems to be getting completely stepped on just for this new expansion. I understand the need for change and I’ve honestly come to the harsh realization that they’re just in it for the money now.
Again, enjoy your new expasion . . . cause I know I will. =w=

You still fail to …
You still fail to explain why exactly the changes are going to be so terrible. And honestly, I don’t think you know yourself.
In my experience, lots of WoW players at the onset of each expansion, simply because things are changing. No logic or reason to it. They just don’t want anything to change. They would prefer to still be running around in their full T3 sets at lvl 60 with nothing to do but PvP.

And yes, Blizzard IS doing this to keep people playing. How is that a bad thing? They need to keep things fresh in order to maintain a player base. Like it or not, Blizzard is a business. They need to make money. So what is it you want? For nothing to ever change in the game? For it to remain the same forever? That just doesn’t work.
And who are you to say that they’re butchering lore? Like I said, it’s THEIR lore. They can change whatever they want.

1. I would understand your point about the Dwarves if we were talking about Druidism. But Dwarves are very deeply connected with the Earth, so they are really perfect candidates for Shamanism.
2. It has been stated that there is a deep connection between the Worgen and the Night Elves. So I’m sure their Druids will be explained. As for the others, I imagine that with Malfurion back and the World Tree in danger, he’s trying to increase the ranks of the Druids to protect it.

Dwarves have never been focused of cared enough about nature as to become shamans. Night Elves have always been very protective of their druidic arts, why the are they teaching these new people they just met about it?
Its apparent Blizzard is doing this just to keep people re-rolling and playing. Really doesn’t matter anyway, since they’ve already butchered the lore and are going full-steam ahead with this, so…

Erm…They DECIDE the lore. It is well within their rights to redefine what is possible. Besides, I don’t see how it goes against lore for any of the races to learn how to harness the Light. Gnome Priests have been around for a while, just not playable. And Tauren are certainly the right kind of culture to accept the traditions of the Light, especially after having met the Naaru.

Man, the more I read about Cataclysm, the more excited I get. It seems like Blizzard is playing up the war between the Horde and the Alliance, even in the midst of such a huge crisis. I bet they’re going to make it so that some existing towns can be captured like the PVP objectives in Outland.
